Members of the Android community have done it again by gaining root access on the unreleased Samsung Epic 4G. This device is not yet available to the public, but as you can see, some lucky folks who already have the device have already done it. Those of you who plan on rooting your Epic 4G on launch day, the method already works. That makes 3 out of 4 Galaxy S devices rooted so far. Let’s see if the Fascinate can meet the same fate before launch.
This root method requires adb commands and the instructions are provided below. Enjoy!
Download this fileÂ
http://evo4g.me/downloads/evo-root.zipRun these commands thru adbÂ
adb push c:downloadsrageagainstthecage-arm5.bin /data/local/tmpÂ
adb shellÂ
chmod 755 /data/local/tmp/rageagainstthecage-arm5.binÂ
cd /data/local/tmpÂ
./rageagainstthecage-arm5.binExit out of the adb shell, and type adb shell again. This time it should drop you to # instead of $.
If it goes back to $, run the exploit again,Â
cd /data/local/tmpÂ
./rageagainstthecage-arm5.binAnd exit out of adb and then adb shell again to see if it’s #
If it doesnt work the first time, repeat 4-5 times and let us know. It should work!
*Note* We know the root file says Evo, the exploit works on the HTC Evo 4G and the Epic 4G.
