Super Dynamite Fishing puts you, Redneck Joe, in a boat with, yeah you guessed it dynamite. Now what I call fishing and what they call fishing seems to differ, but it sure is fun. The objective of the game is to ride your boat up and down the river/lake/sea and bomb the hell out of the aquatic creatures below to complete your daily money goal so you can pay your bills.
You start everyday at your home at 8am, where you will recieve an objective. This objective changes everyday but always has one thing in common it will always be an amount of money and it will always increase everyday. Every morning you can check the newspaper, sitting in the floor at your home, to make your ventures a bit more profitable. You will also randomly receive location specific objectives, via your mailbox, that will net you more money upon completion.
The game starts you out with enough ammo, and dynamite to at least get a feel for the game. This game has a very simple user interface. Alright so you’re on the lake floating, to move simply tilt your phone to the left or right to move that direction. Sometimes upon killing fish you may wanna stop, to do this return the phone to a neutral state, i.e. level. To start your assault on the watery world, tap your finger near the front or back of the boat to starting bombing the unsuspecting creatures. You can also shoot the birds if you have a gun in your weapon list, which you can view by clicking the icon in the bottom right hand corner. The birds are pests who will attempt to steal any dead fish that are floating. The map goes in a circle so if you use my method and drive in one direction, throwing dynamite and shooting birds, you’ll come back around and all the fish you killed will still be floating for you to pick up. Your trip will automatically end if you: run out of weapons, run out of room for fish, or run out of time (day ends at 8pm).
Remember you gotta spend money to make money. If your like me you’ll need more weapons damn near everyday. The weapon shop is equipped with all sorts of nice goodies, most of them being some sort of dynamite. It may actually be better to try one of everything to figure out what works for how ever you like to play. I just grab the biggest and best and blow up as many fish as I can. While you’re buying these weapons you may also notice you’re limited to 4 slots, on top of that you have a limited supply of fish you can carry, which all depends on your boat.Once you get the hang of the game and save you up some money you may want to check out the boat shop. All sorts of boats are available depending on what you want; fish cargo, weapon cargo, speed, or brake power. There are 6 boats total including the one you own and they range from $2500 all the way to $100,00.
As with all games, where’s the fun without unlockables? This is another aspect of the game that will cost you money. It seems you have a girlfriend, and that’s gonna cost you. Swing by Rosie’s apartment and express your love for her by taking her out or buying her nice things. Everytime you complete a full set of “honey-dos” you get a chance to unlock new weapons, or levels. You’ll also notice every time that set resets she gets more expensive. Kinda almost life-like isn’t it?
This game is addicting every time I turn it on I find time slips by me. While it is very simple it’s still a lot of fun and a good way to fill in for periods of overwhelming boredom. I think it’s definitely worth giving it a try. I mean come on, who doesn’t like blowing stuff up?
