Super Status Bar offers total status bar customization, no root Required

Have you been reading through various blogs and forums only to find all kinds of things that you can’t do with out root? I remember those days, they were very frustrating. I finally just took the plunge and made root happen. I will never go back, I swear. For those of you out there that are looking for a little customization with out all the stress and fears of rooting, might be interested in an app called Super Status Bar.

It is being developed by FireZenk and offers quite a unique user experience. You can gain full control over how your status bar appears. Changing the color of the clock, the clock font, the batter color, battery font and even add your own special image to the status bar. There are pre-built themes available in the app that can give you a certain look, some are free, other you will need to buy to use. A decent amount of customization won’t cost you a penny though. Simply make the changes you wish to make, dis-able and re-enable and you can see your changes immediately.

The application is designed to work on all Android devices running Android 2.1+. From the looks of the featured image, this should also work easily for your tablet as well. I don’t have a way to test that at the moment though.

The application is still in a beta stage and some devices or ROM’s may run into an issue here and there. The developer is doing a pretty good job of making updates and fixing things as they pop up. As you saw in the video everything works pretty well. There are however 2 issues. Due to all the wonderful things that have been changed in the Gmail security, you won’t get a notification in the Super Status Bar if you are on Android 2.3.5 or up. Also, the issue of not having the extended experience function in MIUI is kind of a downer. There are a few pretty cool features in there. For instance the toggle and the drag operation, which lets you pull open the status bar even while playing a game. It is a pretty nice feature to have access too.

If someone were kind enough to design the app icons it would be very grateful.
