Swype is in the record books once again for breaking the record for fastest typing on a mobile device. This time it shattered the record with an Android device – the Samsung Galaxy S!
It took Melissa Thompson of Salford, England, 25.94 seconds to become the Guinness World Record holder for fastest typing on a phone.
The sentence for this particular record, as determined by Guinness, reads as follows:
“The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human.â€
This breaks a previous record set by Franklin Page of Seattle who typed the same sentence in 35.54 seconds earlier this year on a Windows Mobile 6.5 powered Samsung Omnia II. The new world record has not yet been officially approved by Guinness. If it does, then the Android powered Samsung Galaxy S will claim the title from its Windows Mobile Samsung contender.
