T-Mobile drops official Galaxy S II info Sheet

We just dropped the news that the much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S II for T-Mobile will be dropping on October 12th. Sporting a decent price tag of $229.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate. Not to terrible of a price for what you are getting. With a little bit of help from T-Mobile we now have a little bit more information. Of course the flier they dropped is riddled with the usual information and sales pitch for the device, it still contains some good information.

You will find the usual pre-loaded apps plus a few bonus’s. Netflix, T-Mobile TV, Samsung Media Hub, Zinio Reader,  Slacker radio and Asphalt 6. Swype will still be the keyboard software of choice. Software is rocking out on Android 2.3.5 with all the usual amenities. We already knew about the 4.52″ Super AMOLED Plus display at a resolution of 480 X 800. Size wise you are looking at 5.1″ X 2.7″ X .37″ and only weighing in at 4.77 ounces. The device has 16GB of internal storage and support for a 32GB micro SD card.

What we knew but weren’t completely sure of was the processor. As we found out earlier, T-Mobiles variant would not be sporting the Exynos chip set by Samsung. The chip behind our device will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 dual-core at 1.5GHz. What I also never remember hearing about this device is that it has NFC-support and a build in screen grabber app. All the non tech savvy people don’t have to root your device to take screen shots with this one.

Although I am a little disappointed that T-Mobile wasn’t able to use the Exynos chip, I still think this device is going to be one heck of phone. I am going to have to start digging the loose change out from between the couch cushions to afford it, but I will have one on launch day one way or another. Any one else out there ready to have a camp out in front of the store with me?
