T-Mobile G2 Can Keep Up with the Galaxy S

Since we first heard of an 800MHz processor coming on the G2, many people felt let down by HTC and T-Mobile for offering such a lower processor than the 1GHz devices running the show for such a highly anticipated device. The G2 features Qualcomm’s MSM 7230 Snapdragon processor according to the press release which was sent late last night and even though the device is clocked at 800MHz, people just can’t look past the numbers.

One of the most interesting features of this MSM 7230 processor is the Adreno 205 graphics processor, which will debut on the G2 as it can obviously compete with the PowerVR GPUs found in Samsung and Texas Instruments SoCs. The Adreno 205 offers 5x the graphics performance over the Adreno 200 which can be found in the previous Snapdragon devices.

As of right now, we can only go off of a single benchmark result that was uploaded to GLBenchmark.com, but you can still see this device keep up. For those of you wondering why the HTC Evo 4G is so low, that device comes with a 30 FPS cap which those who have rooted devices dropped that limitation a while ago. Will this device be yours or will you be holding off until the dual-core devices start shipping?
