T-Mobiles latest Un-Carrier 9.0 is all about business

This morning John Legere took to the stage to announce the next big move for T-Mobile and the Un-Carrier initiative. The announcement came with three new titles to know, Un-Carrier 9.0, Carrier Freedom and Un-Contract. Un-Carrier 9.0 is squarely faced at business accounts out there. T-Mobile is making business accounts extremely easy to understand and to use. Every account will fall under unlimited calling and texting with 1GB of data. Business account holders can up the data by 2GB, so 3GB total, for $10 per-line that needs it. If unlimited is what you need, then it is $30 per line that needs it.  Each add line between 11 lines and 19 lines pays $16 to access the plan, 20 – 1000 lines pay $15 per line and all accounts with 1000 lines or more pay $10 per line. The graphic of how it looks does a much better job at explaining it than words do.

It is pretty cut and dry really with the price dropping per line when more are added and the choice between per-line data packages or a larger pool for every user. The business carry over extends to family members too.

“For a family with just two lines, you’re going to save $876 with us versus AT&T and Verizon over two years,” said Legere. “And if you’re a T-Mobile customer and have a business line, you automatically qualify. In fact, AT&T and Verizon customers would save a total of $8.8 billion a year by switching over to the Un-carrier. That’s what I call a discount.”

To top off the Un-Carrier 9.0 push, T-Mobile has also partnered with GoDaddy to offer business customers a free .com domain and website, optimized for mobile viewing. You also get free custom .com email addresses powered by Microsoft Office 365. This offer gives one custom email address per line on the account with paid data.

“We’re not just setting up your business with wireless − we’re setting you up to do business,” said Sievert. “It’s a fact that over half of US consumers say they wouldn’t trust a business without a website − yet more than half of American small businesses don’t have a site. It’s a big problem for the smallest businesses − and we’re solving it.”

The last bit of information is particularly helpful to those businesses who are just getting off the ground and could use some additional help all rolled into one package. It is a pretty solid sounding deal for business owners out there.
