Team Whiskey Updates to Bionix V 1.2

Our good friends over at Team Whiskey (TW) have moved up their latest Bionix V ROM to version 1.2. As usual, they have brought us another great compilation for our poor neglected Samsung Vibrants. As they continue to bring us all the latest and greatest builds of their custom ROM, one has to stop and wonder why the carriers and OEM’s can never seem to do it right the first time. I’m glad they don’t though. If they did, we wouldn’t have such a huge community of developers out there trying to make our lives easier.

Take a look at the recent changes from Bionix V to Bionix V 1.2.

Bionix-v 1.2:
– KB1 system files
– KA7 kernel w/voodoo enabled by default (KB1 ramdisks for voodoo need to be rebuilt before we can implement)
– KA5 modem (optimal mix of both battery life and data though)
– Init script adjusted – mixed settings/values from nero 3, nero 5, bionix-v for optimal UI speed and performance
– Increased size of battery percentage readout
– Crossed compiled code from KA5-KB1 for speed and stability
– New custom bootanimation
– FFC support (must have front facing camera and i9000 camera.apk to utilize. i9000 camera.apk can be found on our forums)
– All pre-installed market apps updated
– Added support for non-wiping option (downloaded apps will remain intact after flash)

As they like to proclaim, it’s all about QUALITY not quantity. Although updates may take some time to come out from the boys, they are more dedicated to bringing us ROM’s that work. I can certainly appreciate that. I have personally followed many other devs who release updates at an unmanageable rate. I would rather see updates that are worth it then updates the don’t work.

The latest set of ROM’s from TW has certainly changed the game, in my opinion. They have taken the guess work out of flashing. Instead of a full wiping ROM where you need to spend hours reinstalling everything, you can now just flash and continue on with your day. Of course if you are coming from anything other then the recently released Bionix V ROM, then a wipe is required. If you are like most who keep up though, all your work just got easier.

The final note that really makes me stand by the team is the fact they host their own forum section as well as offer many other goodies to install if you desire. Makes it a lot easier to install things you want instead of filling your phone with things you don’t use.

Team whiskey has also been working hard to bring you a stable 2.2.1 and 2.3 rom. Expect a stable 2.2.1 to drop soon…very soon

I love these guys. I can only sit and wait, like many of you, for the release of their first full and stable 2.3 ROM. That is going be HUGE!. I try my best to bring you screen shots of latest installations of ROM’s I have flashed. In this case it becomes a little difficult. I did flash the ROM with no issues. Due to the fact that there is no wipe required for me, since I am coming from the original Bionix-V, my whole systems is crazy looking. I though at this point I shouldn’t share. Look for a later post about a theme package that I installed on top of this ROM though. I am sure many of you love it.

Follow the links below to stay up to date with what the team is up to and seriously get in touch with the forum section. Which is a huge asset if you are running any of their ROM’s.
