During the Motorola event yesterday which they announced seven new devices, Android and Me’s Taylor Wimberly was among the audience and as many of us are curious what the future holds for Motorola as earlier this year Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha mentioned of a Tegra 2 phone coming later this year.
While the end of the year is getting closer and closer, Taylor as well as the rest of the Android community was hoping they would divulge some information at last night’s event, but as the event came to an end they were still left without a clue. While Sanjay Jha sat next to Taylor, the Moto man himself turned to answer some questions by the eager analysts and once it was Taylor’s turn, he simply asked about Motorola’s relationship with NVIDIA:
Sanjay told me he was good friends with NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang and he was excited about what they were doing, but then warned me that new partners who try to enter the mobile space always have some lessons to learn.
When I asked about the timing of the NVIDIA-powered device, Sanjay said there was a small possibility that Motorola might release one more phone before Christmas, but the Tegra 2 phone could possibly slip to early next year.
There you have it, from the Moto man himself has at least confirmed this device and while we could possibly be seeing this device to hit shelves in late December, it would be safe to assume a Q1 2011 launch. Taylor also says that the Motorola tablet will be launching in  Q1 2011 as well, so that should buy everyone time to save up for it.
Other than a NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, what would you all like to see coming on this now confirmed device?
