Acer is on a roll lately, bringing great looking tablets for all price ranges to consumers. Their latest tablet to clear the FCC is a mid-ranged device called the A510. This iteration sits squarely in between their low-cost
A200 and the higher-end A700, which is not a consumer device. Bringing with it a
Tegra 3 quad-core chip, 1GB of RAM, 10.1 inch display at 1280 x 800, front and rear facing cameras and 16GB internal memory. The A510 will be running Android 4.0 out of the box and is likely to be the first tablet in their line up to do so.
It will still have Acer’s signature UI integrated, but the additions they add in are pretty minor. For instance, one of the elements they alter slightly is the lock screen. They call it the Acer Ring, when you tap and hold the unlock button you can open certain apps directly. Similar the modifications we see floating around on various other lockscreens that we all already love and enjoy.
You can also expect to see various widgets and applications suited specifically for Acer use. Looking back at the Acer A700 review provided by
Engadget from CES, you can see Ice Cream Sandwich in action and easily see thy haven’t deviated for the Google experience very much at all.
