‘Test Drive’ feature added to Amazon AppStore for Android, select devices gain Access

While we all love Google and the Play Store, Amazon still has its place in our world. A rather big place we think. Today the Amazon AppStore was updated to version 2.6.53. With it comes a great feature that can help make or break your purchasing decision. It is called Test Drive. The feature itself isn’t all that new actually, it was introduced to the web version of the app store about a year ago. However, this is the first time it has been beta tested publicly on our devices through the app. Test Drive allows you to do just that, take the app for a brief test drive. No, it doesn’t require you to install an ad laden lite version of the app. It actually lets you use the application for a few minutes right on your screen. This function is only available to a limited number of Android devices currently, but is expected to expand in the near future. Currently there are over 5,000 apps available to take for a test drive ahead of your purchase.

The rest of the update offers up the usual stability fixes and bug issues with 3G/4G downloads. If you have never given the Amazon AppStore a try, we recommend you do so, you just never know what sale might roll on through or great new game you can take for a spin and become addicted too.
