The Momentum Never Stops for Rovio as Angry Birds Heads to Rio with Movie Spin-Off

We’ve all heard of Angry Birds and many of you are getting sick of hearing about these pesky little creatures, but this latest news shows how a small developer of an addictive little game just keeps going from success to success.

We already posted that Angry Birds creators are releasing yet another special edition of the game for Valentines Day, but what you may not know is that Rovio, the Angry Birds creators, have been working closely with 20th Century Fox, not for a movie deal of its own, but to create a version of the game tied into the upcoming Rio movie release.

The game will be called, well, erm, Angry Birds Rio, of course, and will feature a new set of characters from the Rio movie and add some exciting new features into an already addictive mix.

We haven’t been able to find any game screen shots or video, but they have released a trailer to build the momentum.  Take a look at the video below:

There is also a rumor that Angry Birds will be getting some special SUPERBOWL treatment with one of those highly expensive SUPERBOWL ads.  Now that’s going big time!

Not much else we can tell you right now, but stay tuned to AndroidStory and we’ll keep digging (literally, as I’m snowed in!).
