Yes, TiVo is still around and you can get one at your local Best Buy, in case you were wondering. If you’re a die-hard TiVo fan however, then the TiVo app by Tim Hoeck is a must have. It can come in handy like those times when your kid grabs your remote and hides the thing. Just pop out your trusty super phone and your problems are solved.
Some of the awesome features of the app are:
- The ability to search using a keyboard: This comes in handy when you are searching YouTube, Amazon or your local channels.
- Shortcuts: This is awesome to have. You can program your own shortcuts to take you to where you need to go in TiVo. Tim has already program some custom ones but you can also download ones from the community that has the app. Some to mention, 30 sec Skip, Season Pass, Wishlist, Todo, Closed Caption and a lot more.
- Channels: This is by far one of the best features. You are able to save channels you choose. also you can download the logo image for the channel. This makes finding your favorite channels fast and easy.
- Supports up to multiple TiVo boxes.
- Different layout views: There is Peanut fitted and Peanut full. We feel that Tim has done a good job on the Peanut fitted view and its our view of choice.
