Trent Reznor partners with Beats Audio to bring new streaming music service to the World

This is a rather interesting bit of news that may or may not find its way to Android. Trent Reznor, lead singer for Nine Inch Nails, has announced a new partnership with Beats Audio. We all know what Beats Audio is right? It is the software with the accompanying headphones that were designed and started by Dr. Dre and has been used in HTC devices. The code name for the project at the moment is ‘Daisy’ and is set to launch by the middle of next year.

It is said that ‘Daisy’ will rival the likes of Spotify. It’s “like having your own guy when you go into the record store, who knows what you like but can also point you down some paths you wouldn’t necessarily have encountered.” Say Reznor.  He also says, Daisy “uses mathematics to offer suggestions to the listener… [but also] would present choices based partly on suggestions made by connoisseurs, making it a platform in which the machine and the human would collide more intimately.”

If he is aiming at a service that rivals Spotify then we would assume that there are plans in there somewhere for mobile streaming. Which leads us to believe there is most likely going to be an Android app somewhere in the pipeline as well. It would be hard to rival Spotify without it. We just hope it doesn’t turn into a HTC exclusive. With HTC in cahoots with Beats and the purchase of MOG in 2011, it could lead it in that direction.

We will keep an eye peeled for more information as the new year rolls around. Would you guys be interested in a music streaming service put together and approved by Beats and Reznor? I wouldn’t be opposed to it personally.
