Twitter for Android gets a UI overhaul in its latest update

Twitter 3.0

Twitter was the last to show up to the Android update party, seeing as Google+ and Facebook both updated yesterday, but it’s okay with me because the new version is pretty awesome. Say hello to version 3.0 – a faster, simpler way to stay close to everything you care about on your Android device. As you can see from the photo above, this update brings forth a completely revamped UI.

The first thing that comes to mind when I look at this new user interface is Ice Cream Sandwich. 2012 is going to be all about sleek, modern and simplicity — Twitter apparently wanted to keep up with the times when they were developing this update. It almost reminds me of the (dare I say) iOS version, but I’m still okay with it because it looks great.

Your “Home” tab is the beginning of your Twitter experience. Here, you’ll find  rich information such as replies, retweets and embedded images. Say goodbye to the “Mentions” tab too, — it’s been replaced by what is now known as “Connect”. Don’t worry though. You’re mentions, retweets, favorited tweets and even who’s recently followed you will all be found here.

Last, but not least, the “Search” tab is now “Discover” – Discover is where you can tap into the stories and trends people are talking about in your world.

Head on over to the Market to grab your update. The link awaits you below.
