Yes, I know it is Galaxy S4 day, but that does not mean some of the other OEMs can’t get some news in. Seems that two pretty big rumors have surfaced about the Moto X phone that I think should happen even if they are not true. There are some other rumors that you can find over on the Android and Me page that I have linked below, but I am going to talk about the two I feel are more important.
First rumor:Â Moto X is not just one phone. It will be a brand name to compete with the Galaxy devices.
Now this would not shock me one bit. After hearing that Andy Rubin was fearful that Samsung would become too huge for Android, having Motorola come out with a new line of devices, completely backed by Google, would be a great idea. Let’s face it. The Razr line might have grabbed some attention reusing that name that was made famous by the flip phone, but it cannot compete with the Galaxy line. If the Moto X line happens to be “game changers” then maybe they do stand a chance. Bring all the great selling points from the Razr line, and throw some pure Google into this new line. Sounds pretty fantastic.
Second rumor: First Moto X phone to be launched this June.
Now I have said it time and time again. No Moto X Phone will show up at Google I/O. I still could be wrong, but I just do not see it happening. But if Motorola and Google plan on releasing the first Moto X phone in June, they better be bringing some awesome features to the table. One thing they will have the upper leg against the Galaxy S4 is the make up of the phone. Even though the GS4 is not fully plastic, the recent Moto Razr line have been wrapped in kevlar. Durability people, durability.
