None of us are strangers to launcher apps. Sometimes the app drawer we love isn’t part of the launcher we love though. Maybe xuso‘s app, called AltDrawer, will help you out a little. The initial launch of his app was back in April of this year and has been updated 2ce since its launch. Today being the latest update bring it to version 0.3.2. The change log definitely shows that the developer is working hard on his creation.
- Added version info in settings
- Added german translation
- Improved speed when rotating screen
- Screen orientation: by sensor, always portrait or always landscape
- Change background (image/wallpaper) transparency
- [FIX] Home button position setting (center, left, right)
- [FIX] Big resolution problems
- Improved general speed (first loading and launching apps)
- Hardware acceleration enabled (Honeycomb tablets)
- The drawer does not closes when opening an application (disabled until fix not opening apps )
- Other little changes
It’s an alternative app drawer (launcher independent) in which you can choose between GRID view (default on all launchers) or LIST view (WP7 like). Obvious tip: Move a shortcut of AltDrawer and replace the old app drawer of your launcher.
If you want to give it a go and see if it is for you or not, then head on over xuso’s XDA Thread and pick up the free APK. Don’t forget to thank him and of course feel free to leave him feedback and suggestions for the next update.
