Upcoming MobileNavigator by Garmin gets Demoed

Being a devoted Android users, I have yet to understand the need for another navigation application on my device. I know many of you are itching for TomTom to finally release their navigation app that they have been working on for eternity. Another big player in the GPS navigation world, Garmin, had a run with ASUS and the failed Garminfhone for T-Mobile. That hasn’t stopped them from trying to bring their style of navigation to Android though.

The guys over at Engadget happened to run across Navigon’s latest application for Windows Mobile, Android and iOS called MobileNavigator. The latest app has quite a few new features that some of you might enjoy greatly. You will be able to store individual states in your local storage for offline access and a driving mode called ‘Cockpit’ allowing you to check your speed and acceleration over the last 30 minutes. Pretty cool features.

The application is currently available for Windows Mobile for $50, but is on special for $30. The Android and iOS versions are said to be launching in the next few months. I assume they will be launched with a similar price point in mind. They also mention that if you wish to load up a new map that you don’t already have, there will be another one-time fee associated with it.

You will want to pop over to the source link below to take a quick gander at the hands on video they have provided. Then, please explain to me and others, why I should drop that kind of cash on a navigation application.
