Well, howdy-freakin’-doody, Android fanatics! I’m just getting home and geared up for the late night shift. I look into the Android Market to check for updates, and what do you know? Twitter for Android has just received a slight bump, bringing us up to version 3.1.0.
The latest update brings a nice new feature, in the form of a swipe shortcut that allows us to quickly reply, retweet, or favorite any tweet directly from the timeline. We can also view users’ profiles or share tweets using the swipe shortcut as well. The swipe feature is compatible with both phones and tablets, and has a very nice fading transition for visual stimulation upon swiping.
Also added were improved scrolling and network performance, improved support for devices running Ice Cream Sandwich and a new confirmation dialog for the ‘Find Friends’ function. Throw in a few security enhancements and the addition of the Filipino and Simplified Chinese languages, and we’ve got ourselves a brand new version of Twitter to download.
Of course, this is always a good time to shamelessly promote myself by asking you all to follow me as well. If you aren’t already, make sure to check me out at @TonyTha1AndOnly. If you already have Twitter installed, check the Market for your update. If you need a fresh install, I’ve included a link to the app below. Happy tweeting, kiddos!
