US variants of the LG G3 to see Android 5.0 Lollipop updates ‘soon’

The LG USA Mobile Twitter account pushed out a tweet earlier this morning with the image you see above. It is obviously in reference to the LG G3 and a Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Being that the tweet came from the LG USA account, we surmise that this means the US variants are close to seeing the update begin rolling out. Unfortunately they don’t tag in a specific carrier. In a nutshell, that means that the update has probably cleared which ever carriers certification process and has been approved to roll out.

When probed on the “soon” aspect a representative handling the Twitter account replied with “Sit tight, really soon!”. Further questioning failed to return and answers from anyone. If I were a betting man I would suspect that the Verizon variant won’t be first though. They tend to be the last carrier to update devices. T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint and US Cellular remain the main contenders. I poked about the various carries device update pages to see if anyone slipped anything out, but to no avail.

All you proud LG G3 owners out there sporting stock devices should keep an eye out for a OTA update on your device. If you see one, let us know the carrier so we can alert more users. I included the links below to the big 4 carriers software update pages for the device so we can all check in on things.

T-Mobile | Sprint | AT&T  | Verizon
