Users speak and developers listen, Duke Nukem 3D receives an update and removes the Ads

Yesterday we let you all know that Duke Nukem 3D was finally available on the Android Market. Best part was the initial episode was only $0.99. Not a terrible price for a game that is full of memories for most gamers out there. Even though the game was fairly priced, it came with something attached that left the fan base a little more than perturbed. The app actually included ads with it. I honestly can’t think of a single paid app that I have ever seen that included ads. I was always under the impression that ads were around to offset developing costs allowing an app to be free. I don’t think to many people would have cared so much if ads were present if they didn’t also pay for the game. Even if they offered two versions, a free on with ads and paid one with out. That seems to be how many developers are working it these days.

Thankfully the community spoke up in a big way and Machineworks Northwest LLC listened to our outcries. They have removed the ads from the game for us. Talk about a fast response. I suppose they figured if they were really going to make the game anything to talk about and make some money, the ads had to go.

If you were mildly disappointed in the fact that ads were present and it detoured you from purchasing, by all means click or scan the QR below and pick it up.
