Verizon announces additional 49 markets to get 4G LTE by first half of 2011

Verizon has just recently announced they will be adding an additional 49 markets to their 4G coverage area by the first half of this year, bringing a grand total of 140+ markets covered by the end of 2011. This is great news, especially since Verizon just announced four 4G LTE devices at CES. Check out the list below of the upcoming cities to receive 4G LTE.

The cities are as follows:

  • Mobile, Alabama
  • Montgomery, Alabama
  • Little Rock, Arkansas
  • Colorado Springs, Colorado
  • Gainesville, Florida
  • Lakeland-Winter Haven, Florida
  • Pensacola, Florida
  • Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida
  • Tallahassee, Florida
  • Augusta, Georgia
  • Honolulu, Hawaii
  • Kahului-Wailuku, Hawaii
  • Lahaina, Hawaii
  • Boise-Nampa, Idaho
  • Carbondale-Marion, Illinois
  • Wichita, Kansas

I’m sure as time progresses we will see more and more cities on Verizon’s road map, and Verizon hopes to have full nationwide 4G coverage by the end of 2013.
