Something that Verizon has always done well is promoting a device. Even long after the OG Droid was released, people are still calling all Android phones ‘Droids’. Even though I find it rather annoying, Verizon really helped push Android to the front of the pack. Since then there have been a number of devices launched all revolving around the same Droid name. It has been a name that has stuck in our brains.
It should come as no surprise that Verizon is back at the advertising grind stone for the newest ‘Droid’ addition, the Droid RAZR. They brought back the @DroidLanding twitter account and have begun teasing and getting things up and running for the scavenger hunt. Which was a huge success last time it was activated. Be sure to check that out and try to keep up with it, you might just get a free RAZR.
To add an additional chance for people like myself, who live nowhere near any major city that they would hide one in, there is a claw game. I remember spending countless quarters on those stupid machines trying to pull out a stupid stuffed animal. It was possible to win, but it was always so frustrating when your prize fell from the claw on its way to the drop zone. Well, now you can put all those skills you learned to work to attempt to win one using similar methods. You don’t get to navigate the claw at all, but you will need to work on your timing to try to avoid the lasers to snag the phone. Which is probably impossible without doing some serious Facebook recruiting. The more friends you recruit through your Facebook the less laser you have to deal with. That is social media marketing at its finest right there folks.
I always play these games even though I never win anything. Ya never know there maybe a time when I actually get a free phone. Head on over to the
DroidDoes page to give it a go.
