With Google TV’s struggle to please networks, Viacom has now cut off Google TV which removes channels like Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon and Spike. Google TV’s purpose was to change the way families watch TV and it’s working, but not the way Google had originally hoped.
We’re sure that Google will find out a way to correct this issue and get networks on board, but until then you’ll only be left with TBS and Time Warner as the only media companies available on Google TV, a least we have Conan, right?
Google TV is obviously taking a big hit with these blocks from Viacom, CBS, Disney and NBC, but can Google speed the talks of resolving this issue sooner than later? We’ll have to see how Google responds to this blocking of Viacom but until then, do you think Google should have held off launching Google TV until they had this issue sorted out?
