Ever wondered why dual-screen phones didn’t catch on? Yeah, me neither. I mean there can be ways that dual-screens can be pretty cool, but when Kyocera made an attempt with the Echo, and it flopped. Reports said battery life was terrible, and it just was not impressive. Does not look like it will ever catch on.
Well in comes YotaPhone. Not the final name choice, but this phone has 2 screens that is not quite what we have seen before. One HD normal display in front, one LCD screen in back. Yeah this is not a flip phone with 2 screens in a Nintendo DS manner, just a 2 sided device with an interesting twist. Now innovation is always key, and as much as this might be somewhat innovative; I do not see this type of phone catching on. The second screen in back acts as a backup screen for when your phone is completely dead. It can screenshot certain apps, and display it even though your phone is discharged. Might come in handy when your phone dies on the way somewhere. You can screen shot Google Maps and find your way with the ugly backup screen. Yeah it is not too pretty to look at , and with backup batterys, portable battery chargers, and just being cautious about your battery life needs; we really do not need a second screen that is going to be able to show us a screenshot of a page out of a book or a map.
