[VIDEO] What Happens When You Shoot A Galaxy Gear Smartwatch With A HK417?

The Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch is not one of the first things that comes to mind when talking about shooting inanimate objects with a gun, however as a smartwatch, it has been met with very mixed reviews, many of which are bemused by the lackluster battery life and high price. It is however a very good precedent for Samsung to build upon for the next iteration which is already rumoured to be Gear-ing up for production (see what I did there?).

Whatever your opinion of the smartwatch, the Tech Assassin over at the YouTube channel, RatedRR, has chosen the Gear as his next target, recruiting the services of a Heckler & Koch HK417 rifle to help test the bulletproof properties of the smartwatch. Check out the video below:

While we hate to see any sort of tech get destroyed while still fully functional, in typical RatedRR style, the video is particularly spectacular in slow motion and to the Galaxy Gear’s credit, it actually holds up pretty well to a bullet passing straight through its screen.

Looks like the Galaxy Gear smartwatch won’t be the first device you’ll be considering if bulletproofing is a primary concern of yours, but if it was, you should be looking at a HTC One anyway.
