[Video] NVIDIA keeps pushing Project Shield, new demo of Need for Speed Most Wanted Showcased

NVIDIA Project Shield Need for Speed Most Wanted
Can’t get enough of NVIDIA‘s Project Shield? They just sent over a release to us that offered up some details and clip of them streaming Need for Speed Most Wanted from a GeForce GTX-enabled PC. With the PC doing all the heavy lifting when it comes to the graphics and gaming, you get to sit back with the Shield and just race with all the bells and whistles enabled. It is pretty impressive, take a quick look.

Of course, not everyone is lucky enough to have a PC that can push all the gaming glory you could want to your hands. We can still see some amazing potential with this technology. I know I would prefer to be laying in bed with the wife playing games instead of sitting in the cold garage.

What are guys thoughts and feelings on Project Shield? Is it your next portable gaming device going to Project Shield, or is it more of a novelty item that would just be cool to have and spend more time sitting than being used?

Project SHIELD Has The Need For Speed (Most Wanted)

The NVIDIA Project SHIELD Team has an almost insatiable need for pure, unadulterated speed. So, we thought it was fitting that we demonstrate Need For Speed: Most Wanted streaming to the device from a GeForce GTX-enabled PC.

We tucked a Tegra 4 processor and its custom 72-core GPU into Project SHIELD portable to satisfy our addiction to unrivaled Android gaming. Then we made it work with your GeForce GTX-powered PC to play all our favorite high-performance PC games. The result: an uncompromised gaming experience in a truly portable device.

What you see below is our latest Project SHIELD: PC Mondays video. In this episode, we show off the visual eye candy that is Need For Speed. The PC’s GPU is doing all the graphics heavy lifting, allowing us to run the game with all the graphics bells and whistles enabled.

And, of course, Project SHIELD sports dual analog control sticks for steering input, and trigger controls for throttle and braking. So gameplay is smooth and intuitive.
