A forgotten contender in the tablet field reemerges. Promotional retailer “woot!” is offering ViewSonic’s gTablet for $279.99 which considering that this tablet offers almost everything it’s new upcoming competitors do is a damn good deal. Of course “almost” weighs heavily among some people.
This tablet is lacking the Android 3.0 well as a cellular radio. However is does offer WiFi, a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor and 16GB on internal memory with a standard microSD slot allowing for larger memory expansion. With others such as the XOOM selling for upwards of $600 just for a WiFi-version you gotta ask yourself is Honeycomb worth an extra $300. [Thanks, Richard]
