Two weeks ago we reported that ViewSonic had announced their pricing and availability for their ViewPad 7 that is would come in Q4 for $479.99 and according to Amazon, the ViewPad 7 is available for pre-order, but not at that price. It seems that ViewSonic has up’d the price to $599.99 which doesn’t seem like the route to take considering that I could buy a better quality Samsung Galaxy Tab for the same price, contract-free.
For a quick comparison, the features of the ViewPad 7 includes:
- Android 2.2
- 7-inch 800×480 WVGA LCD display
- 600MHz processor
- 802.11 b/g
- Bluetooth connectivity
- 3-megapixel, auto focus camera in the rear and a 0.3 megapixel camera in the front
- 512MB of memory
- expandable storage up to 32GB via microSD port
While the Samsung Galaxy Tab features:
- Android 2.2
- 7-inch 1024X600 WSVGA enhanced TTF display
- 1GHz Hummingbird processor
- TouchWiz UI
- Front-facing camera
- Wi-Fi
- GPS
- Bluetooth
- Micro SD expandable up to 32GB
We’re not too sure why ViewSonic is offering the ViewPad 7 for the same price and we’re curious to see who chooses the ViewPad 7 over the Galaxy Tab. Which tablet would you choose?
