Virgin Mobile announces HTC EVO V 4G

Virgin Mobile customers who have been jealous of the new HTC EVO 4G  and HTC One X don’t need to be anymore. Today, Virgin Mobile announced the upcoming availability of their new HTC EVO V 4G, which will be the first “4G” device to run on the its network. The device is essentially just a rebranding of Sprint’s HTC EVO 3D which launched last summer.

As far as specs go, the device has a 4.3-inch qHD (960 x 540) display, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense 3.6, a 5MP rear camera with a 1.3MP FFC, 3D lens on the back of the device, 1GB of RAM, and 4GB of internal storage. Not a bad device for a regional carrier.

The downside is that the device is going to be priced at $299 on contract, but Virgin is planning to offer the device with plans starting at $35 for unlimited data and 300 talk time minutes. The new handset is slated to launch on May 31st.
