@VZWSupport Seems to be Lost at All Times – DROID X2 Gingerbread Update – Maybe Yes, Maybe No

How is it possible for the @VZWSupport team on twitter is so out of sync with what is going on with their company and devices. This is not the first time that I have seen them completely botch something. Point in case – Yesterday they stated that the Galaxy S II would be 4G LTE. Then they had to correct them selves to state the Galaxy Tab 10.1 was what they thought they were talking about. How can you get that confused?? A phone vs a tablet is a HUGE difference.

Today, judging from the tweets, they are up to it again.  Check out the conversation they had with @cdavidlipscomb1.

What a mess. Verizons support page for the DROID X2 states “Coming Soon”. I am still a bit confused. Is there an update rolling out starting today or not? According to Droid-Life, the update that is rolling out now is just a ‘soak test’ and the real public won’t see it start to go public until, hopefully, tomorrow.

If I was a DROID X2 owner with Verizon I would be mildly irritated at the lack of ability to communicate properly and consistently. We all want the latest and greatest Android version on our $500 phones, don’t go and raise hopes then crash them into a million pieces.

A minor side note to rooted users – Don’t install the update if you receive it. We shouldn’t have to tell you that but we will. Keep your eyes open here for information on this update and for rooted version to be released.
