They have recently released a set of application that can help protect your kid for those harmful words that get tossed around so free from behind a cell phone or PC screen via text messaging. People can talk big when they think they can hide. The application is fairly simple to use. You, the Parent, set up a list of filter words that you want your kid protected from. You can set anything from profanity, sexual words or any thing you want the app to keep an eye out for. If you kid tries to send a message containing any of the filtered words the message will be sent directly to the parent in charge. The same applies to incoming messages. This service alone will keep you informed of what is really going on in their life and who is doing the bullying.

I like it! Many kids and parents alike might find a way to argue the use of this application. The most questionable argument is the privacy issues. Using an app like this would technically violate the kids privacy and might seem ‘unconstitutional.” I call BS on that one. Until your child is 18, or buys and pays for their own phone, it is your right as the parent/guardian to know what the heck is going on. You live under my roof and I pay your bills, I will know what you are doing, end of story.
