Zombro: Change sides and help the zombie Survive

Zombro
Every time Google changes the Play Store, or makes an update of any significance, I always seem to find something I have never seen before. After I finally pulled the trigger and installed the new Play Store, I looked through the new look for a little while. Zombro caught my eye because of the funky icon. After pulling it up and taking a quick look and read, I knew it would be awesome.

Zombro is a Zombie. You are in control of him and your mission is to collect gas so you can travel across America. You are faced with various puzzles to complete each level. Where it gets fun is when you disconnect your torso from your legs. Which you will do often. You then can control just the legs so that you jump and move objects for your torso to catch up to your legs. The game isn’t graphically rich, but it is designed very well. The music is fitting and hearing “brains” every soft often makes it a little more fun.

Features:
– 50 Puzzles
– Solve mind bending puzzles, while detaching Zombro in three pieces!
– Outfit Zombro in cool gear. Even customize his brain!
– Choose from over 30 cool items in the store
– Play offline! No internet connection needed except when making purchases.

It sounds great, and it is really is pretty awesome, but Making Fun, Inc. pulls the old switcheroo on you. The game is available for free. Once downloaded, you can start your journey. You start in Portland Oregon, which is pretty cool since I live in Oregon. You cruise through 5 levels of training and learning the particular of the game controls. Which are really easy and just simple touch controls. Once you finish the 5 training levels, that is where the fun ends. You then have to buy the rest of the game. The price tag is only $0.99, so it isn’t a big deal. However, when the description of the games says – “NOTE: Zombro is always free to play, but certain sections and premium items can only be unlocked with in-app purchase that requires real money.” I expected at least half of the levels would be available with special sections costing a buck or two or possibly giving you the choice to move forward for collecting all the gas cans. Nope. The second level opens up and you have to pay for it, the third level needs 16 gas cans, and the first five levels only offer you 15.

Is Zombro worth the dollar to pickup 45 more levels? I don’t see why not. It is fun, clever and entertaining. I just wish it wasn’t advertised as free with the “always free to play” wording in the Play Store description. If you want to try out the first few levels and see if you are willing to spend the dollar, be our guest. Follow the link below to head to the Play Store and pick it up.
