ZTE planning smartwatch for second quater 2014, only for their Devices

ZTE Smartwatch
Everyone here has heard about and seen the Samsung Galaxy Gear a few hundred times. We knew it would only be a matter of time before more manufactures started to jump in the wearable tech, especially the smartwatch, side of things. ZTE looks to be among those that will be jumping on the proverbial bandwagon with plans to unveil their take on the smartmatch in the first quarter of 2014 and planning to start selling it in the second quarter.

Not surprisingly, they plan to make give it “similar features” to the Samsung Galaxy Gear and be sure the ZTE watch works with just ZTE devices. However, they might consider an all Android version or variant later.

The chances of seeing either stateside are pretty slim. ZTE is primarily in China and the launch of a ZTE smartwatch will be aimed at lower price tags for the Chinese market.

A smartwatch isn’t all ZTE is looking into. They are also considering a smart glasses and connected shoes. Neither of which have any real concrete information or launch plans.
