In the words of Simon himself, “it was bound to happen sooner or later”. Hacker David Wang has done the double, and successfully ported Android to the iPhone 3G. WiFi is working, as is SMS support and the browser, but audio support is yet to come. As they themselves say:
Next up is audio support–we’ve already laid the groundwork for audio support on the 3G and gotten it working in our homemade bootloader, so support for audio in Linux/Android will be coming in a few days.
