Sony CEO confirms a US carrier will have the Xperia Z in ‘Coming Weeks’
The AllThingsD D11 conference has been producing some great news and information today. One such tid bit came from Sony CEO Kaz Hirai. He stated, “the company plans to soon start selling its flagship Xperia Z phone through a U.S. carrier shortly; increased marketing efforts should help things.” Sadly, he didn’t make mention of which US carrier. Although we can be fairly certain that T-Mobile will be the US launch partner for the device. Why you ask? Because the Xperia Z made a FCC appearance sporting T-Mobile radios and TmoNews has seen leaked T-Mobile branded device images.
The smartphone competition is pretty fierce right now withe the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 floating about. Not to mention the upcoming Note 3. On the other hand, Sony does make some gorgeous phones. The Xperia Z could flourish quite nicely on good old magenta with its 13 MP Exmor RS camera, quad-core processor, water resistance and 5-inch Bravia Engine powered 1920×1080 display.
