Contracts are a killer and they sometimes keep people on a particular device longer then they might like. However, it looks like those still sporting the
Samsung Galaxy S II (I777) with AT&T might just have an unexpected surprise in Samsung Kies right now. Apparently there are some reports via the
official AT&T forums and
XDA, that Android 4.1.2 is hanging out and is installing just fine for users. While the mummers of the update are rather small, it does sound like it is  legit. AT&T hasn’t officially announced the update and there isn’t any news of an OTA rolling out just yet. If AT&T gets around to that it would be great.
The update is being reported with build number UCMD8. Since AT&T hasn’t let loose the info, there isn’t a changelog available yet. At least you know that going from Ice Cream Sandwich to Jelly bean does give you some of the cool JB features you might have been drooling over like richer expandable notifications and Google Now.
Anyone out there hook their Galaxy S II to Kies yet and see if it is there? Let us know if you see it. Below is the link to get Samsung Kies if you don’t already have it.
