Although there’s been no official launch dates for T-Mobile’s LTE coming to Chicago yet, it has been spotted throughout the area recently. There’s been reports of users picking up weak LTE signals near the Loop as far back as April. Today that changed; it’s been reported to be about five times as fast and is appearing in larger areas of Chicago such as Logan Square as well as the suburbs of Crystal Lake, Barrington, Schaumburg, and Bartlett among others.
Additionally, TmoNews is reporting that there have been LTE sightings in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, and Salt Lake City. It appears that they’re testing in these areas before the official launch. Expect LTE to be hit or miss until it’s official, but users should be expecting it sometime soon.
Thanks to Brendan and Scott for the tips.
