While the talk of Android 4.3 heats up, there are still phones out there that are busily trying to be updated. One such phone is the Sony Xperia ZL, which has the honour of being upgraded to Android 4.2.2, and as Android Police notes, is actually the first non-Nexus smartphone to be updated to Android 4.2.2 (not to be confused with phones launching with Android 4.2.2).
This firmware version (10.3.A.0.423) should be rolling out worldwide now and includes some of the lovely goodies associated with 4.2.2 like widgets on the lockscreen and support for 64GB microSD cards. If you own a Sony Xperia ZL and have updated to the new software, let us know how you find the enhancements.
This news is especially frustrating for Galaxy S3 and HTC One owners who have been hanging on every rumour that their phones would be updated to Android 4.2.2 first. Looks like Sony‘s got the best of them this time.
