Are you lucky enough to have ordered a Google Play Edition Samsung Galaxy S4 or HTC One? Apart from being a target of immense jealousy, you will also be happy to know that your very special phone will most likely be shipping today from Google Play.
From what we’ve read on the interwebs, the reception to both phones is rather mixed. Some people have lauded the coming of the Google Edition phones as the end of Nexus branded phones, while others have been quick to remind us that although the phone was mandated by Google, the updates won’t be handled by Google; instead, the updates will be coming from Samsung and HTC themselves for their respective phones. With rumours of other Google Edition phones coming as well, this is one debate that clearly isn’t over yet.
