Elon Musk: Model S getting Chrome Browser & may get Android Emulator

While speaking in Munich, the real-life Tony Stark, Tesla CEO Elon Musk was asked about app development on the Model S by an audience member. Musk revealed that the S will upgrade to Chrome as its web browser, which brings all of the possibilities that Chrome add-ons bring. This is great in itself, but he also spilled a few more beans; after the core functionality of the car’s Linux-based OS with 17 inch touch-panel controls is further solidified with things such as more multi-language support and a better navigation framework, an Android emulator may be introduced towards the end of 2014. Android and even iOS apps can already be ported relatively easily by developers according to Musk since the OS uses the Linux QT Library, but with a built-in Android emulator, users will be able to run their favorite Android apps natively without any dev voodoo.

Model S Display

For those of you lucky enough to own a Model S, multi-tasking with Chrome and Android may be in the near future. If I were so lucky, I imagine myself checking the intel map on Ingress and playing the game simultaneously all the time on that that huge screen (without needing my phone). If you had a Model S right now that had the Chrome browser and an Android emulator, what would you use it for?
