Back in September, some photos leaked out which appeared to show a gold front casing of a HTC One, prompting us to believe that HTC was readying a gold variant of their flagship smartphone. Since then, we’ve seen a HTC One made of 18-carat gold but nothing of the front casing that is shown in that leak. Well, we won’t have to wonder what happened to that casing any longer as HTC has made that gold HTC One official today.
The gold HTC One will not differ in way, shape or form from the normal silver HTC One (which, for the record, is also available in black, blue and red), still rocking its Snapdragon 600 processor, one feature of many that made it one of the premier phones to get in the first half of this year. Unfortunately, it’s no long the first half of this year, and even a gold makeover may not be able to help jump-start HTC One sales which have waned significantly in the second half of this year.
Even so, there is probably still a market for gold coloured phones considering the gold iPhone 5S is sold out in the States and Samsung is still readying its gold Galaxy S4, but with sales said to be restricted to Europe when it’s eventually released, we still wonder if it will make any waves. Would you get a gold HTC One? Let us know what you think in the comments.
