Among the list of newly compatible apps are two major ones that I know many of you will be happy to hear. Plex is finally part of the Chromecast revolution. We shared a story with you not long ago that there was some hints towards Plex support and that it should be coming soon. While Plex support is now officially available via your device, you will need to be a Plex Pass subscriber to enjoy it. Have no fear though, Plex usually takes what is offered to the Plex Pass users and makes it available to all users in due time.  This little addition is a nice one that will let you feed all your local media from your PC to your TV via your Android device. Another addition, aVia media player, brings local device storage casting abilities.

Not sure about you guys, but this wave of updated app support just took the Google Chromecast to a whole new level. If you don’t have one yet, hold off on the Starbucks for a week and pick one up. It can only get better from here. You can pick up a Chromecast in the Play Store for $35 or even through Amazon for $32.88. Be sure to head over to Chromcaste.com/apps to take a look at all the new apps that are supported.

Can’t wait to get home and start playing around with all these updates.

Minor note: It sounds like the Plex update is having issues and force closing. However there are already reports of another update going out that fixes the issue. Let us know if it is resolved.
