Today is the big day for the Garmifone, however we don’t feel that many people are chomping at the bit to get this phone. It feels like the EVO has killed all recognition or desire for this device. Don’t get us wrong, we are not talking the phone down. Rather, we’re just stating it is a bad time to release this guy since some bigger launches of other phones are overshadowing other releases. One thing that this phone still excels at above other phones is navigation. So if you’re one that really wants something a little more robust than Google Navigation does then this is the phone for you.
Garminfone can be yours for $199.99 after a $50 rebate with a new two-year contract. If you don’t want a contract, you can pick it up for $449.99. The Garmifone runs Android 1.6 with a slightly custom UI. It also has a 3MP camera and comes with a car dock and charger.
