Whenever I go out from my house, friends ask me “When’s the Droid Xtreme coming out?”, and I always say “Probably this Summer” , but now I can give them more details. You can see a screenshot above showing that Verizon Wireless is going to hold a press event in which they will be unleashing the next generation of Droid. We are all assuming that this is probably the Droid Xtreme and Droid 2. In this press event, speakers like John Stratton (VP and CMO of Verizon), Andy Rubin (VP of Google engineering department), Sanjay Jha (Co-CEO of Motorola), and Shantanu Narayen (CEO of Adobe) are included, and if this screenshot is true, then I am sure that this is going to be something big.
We saw that the Droid X is simply an amazing looking device. It comes with a new version of MotoBlur, which is looking very promising and not the disappointment the previous version of MotoBlur was. Motorola and Verizon is actually launching this phone to compete with the Sprint HTC EVO 4G and the Apple iPhone 4, and I am sure that the Droid Xtreme will give both these devices a good run for their money. The Droid Xtreme comes with an 8-megapixel camera supporting 720p HD video recording. Adobe CEO is also leading this press event, so you can expect Android 2.2 because it comes with Flash 10.1. We are expecting a lot from this device. May be it will come with something that we don’t know about yet.
Today we also saw the folks over at Engadget got their hands on the Droid Xtreme, and they are saying that it’s a very fast device and making the HTC EVO look like yesterdays news. It’s going to be a huge blast, when the competition between the Droid Xtreme, EVO 4G, and the iPhone 4 will begin. I can’t wait for it, and if the Droid Xtreme will feature Android 2.2, then I am getting this device for sure. What about you guys, please share your thoughts in comment box.
