OnePlus made the announcement recently that it was planning to unveil its new OnePlus OxygenOS ROM on February 12th, in favour of CyanogenMod which has created its fair share of problems for the year old manufacturer. These problems came to a head when Micromax tried to get OnePlus banned from sale in India as it claimed to be the exclusive seller of CyanogenMod handsets in India, a ban that was initially instituted, then removed, but has still had no resolution. Which brings us to OxygenOS, an all new ROM which we’re assuming OnePlus was spurred into creating due to these external issues.
The above image appears to show the app drawer of OxygenOS divided into somewhat functional groups (Messenger and Vine in “Games”, really?) and some more screenshots show what appears to be the new weather app in OxygenOS.
The weather app at least is a pretty minimalist affair, though we can’t know for sure that this is going to be the finished product, but if any of these screenshots are anything to go by, the OnePlus OxygenOS is going to be a whole different experience to CyanogenMod in so many ways. We’re assuming that OxygenOS has Android 5.0 at its core, but we’ll confirm that when we get the information.
