We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again: the Huawei Watch is a beautiful smartwatch. Despite its beauty, however, we’ve recently been hearing that the device is going to cost around $1000, which when compared to existing smartwatches, is a gargantuan sum of money. And this has seemingly been reinforced today by an Amazon listing that has gone up on Amazon Germany, listing the device for €999, which equates to about $1000 Stateside. That said, there is a disclaimer on the page saying “There is no suggested retail price of pages of the manufacturer. The Amazon selling price can therefore change.”
The situation isn’t being helped by Huawei staying mum on the Watch’s pricing – it’s not like they would have waited this long to make an announcement if the device was particularly affordable, especially with a version containing 3 ounces of 24 carat gold. But with the effort that has apparently gone into designing and manufacturing the device, you get the feeling that Huawei could well ask for a little bit more than the average Android Wear device asking price. But hopefully it won’t be anywhere near $1000…
