Android 5.1 Lollipop has been slowly finding its way to various Android devices around the globe over the last month or so. The Nexus devices should mostly be updated already, if yours isn’t, check for updates. It could be waiting for you. To keep things moving along Google has recently uploaded the Android 5.1 Lollipop factory image to the Google Developers site. Like every other build out there it is labeled as LMY47D.
A factory image won’t do a lot of good for an average user unless you some how screw up your device. At that point you would want to flash the factory image to return the device to stock, like it came out of the box. For developers, the factory image can bring lots of goodies to tinker with. Particularly for those ROM developers out there giving the Nexus Player new features, a new UI look and tweaks to make it run better.
If you need to get your hands on the factory image for the device direct your browser over to the developers web page and click the link for the Nexus Player 5.1.0 (LMY47D) build.
