Earlier this morning I let you wonderful Samsung Galaxy Note 4 owners on AT&T‘s network know that your patience was about to be rewarded. AT&T started to push the 1.2GB Android 5.0 update to Note 4 via a Wi-Fi only update. It looks like the Note 4 wasn’t the only one to see the update push today though as the Galaxy Note 3 is also starting to get the update. AT&T was a little more forthcoming in their changelog as to what it will bring to the device too.
Software Update Includes
- Android 5.0 Lollipop Highlights
- Songs, photos, apps, and even recent searches from one Android device can be immediately enjoyed across all of your Android devices.
- New User Interface look and feel, more fluid motions
- Priority mode to only allow certain notifications to get through
- Battery saving features and remaining time left to charge or deplete indicators
- Smart Lock to secure phone or tablet by pairing it with a trusted device like a wearable or car
- Most frequently used settings available with just two swipes down from the top screen
Not like most Android enthusiasts weren’t already privy to said information. Like the Note 4 update, Wi-Fi will be required to download the large file. Interestingly enough though, they only state 5.0 where as they listed the Note 4 with 5.0.1. I will assume it will be the same, but without a Note 3 in my position, I am only guessing. You will also want to make sure your device is charged well over 50% and that you won’t need your phone for a bit when the update finishes downloading and starts to install. To get started head into your device Settings > General tab > About Device> Software updates > Check for Updates.
