Samsung officially announced the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 yesterday, but many fans of the Galaxy Note series were a little disappointed to hear that their favourite phablet would not only no longer have a removable battery, but not have a microSD slot – at least, not the version that’s coming to the US. Yes, according to several reports, the dual-SIM Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has a microSD slot, or more specifically, it has a second SIM slot which doubles as a microSD slot – naturally though, this model is only going to be offered in certain parts of the world, primarily the Asian markets.
For those of you who are wondering why this model can’t be available in the US, or anywhere else in the world (sorry, Europe, you’re not getting the Galaxy Note 5 this year anyway), the problem is carriers who have previously taken issue with dual-SIM devices and have it affects carrier exclusivity and their contracts. It’s not particularly surprising, but it is disappointing that a feature that a lot of people want is available, but not necessarily in the device that is available to you.
